The DocScore/Star Rating

A DocScore (depicted as a star rating on a doctor's profile) is a number that reflects both publicly available information as well as a doctor’s reputation, experience, and engagement on HealthTap. The higher the score, the better. A high DocScore shows you (among other things) that the doctor is both active on HealthTap and that other doctors frequently agree with the answers that he or she provides on HealthTap.

Here are the key factors influencing the DocScore of a doctor on HealthTap:
  • Agrees and recommendations from peers
  • Thanks and recommendations from patients
  • Years of experience
  • Quality of doctors in their referral network
  • Where the doctor studied and trained
  • Board certification(s)
  • Other professional accomplishments (such as peer reviewed publications and awards)
